Located close to the historic centre, this hidden park is <strong>perhaps the most beautiful in the city,<\/strong> and it is a precious \u2018green lung\u2019 as well. Its meadows and paths dotted with ancient trees and thriving bushes are an invitation to <strong>relaxing walks<\/strong> and moments of contemplation. Thanks to its <strong>picnic areas<\/strong>, it is possible to completely lose yourself in the beauty of nature and forget for a moment the hustle and bustle of our everyday life.<\/p>\n<p>The park is <strong>open every day, from 8 am to 8 pm<\/strong>. But the Caprotti Park is not just a place to relax: it is also an important cultural and recreational space. Its equipped areas are home to <strong>art events, concerts, theatre performances and cultural events<\/strong>. Its origins date back to the <strong>19th century<\/strong>, when it was designed as a public garden for the citizens of Bergamo, although its official foundation date is the year <strong>1950<\/strong>, which makes it <strong>the oldest park<\/strong> in Bergamo. It is a popular place for people of all ages. Among the park&#8217;s main attractions there is its charming <strong>pond<\/strong>, populated by ducks and swans swimming placidly among the water lilies. Along the banks of the pond there are some <strong>scenic benches<\/strong>, ideal for enjoying moments of quiet and contemplation.<\/p>\n<p>During the warm season, the Suardi Park comes alive with <strong>cultural events<\/strong> such as open-air concerts, <strong>theatre performances and art exhibitions<\/strong>. It is also the ideal place for children &#8211; here they can have fun on slides and swings, and there is a toy car track with cars that children can drive themselves. <strong>In winter<\/strong> it is open <strong>from 7 am to 7 pm<\/strong>, while in spring and <strong>summer<\/strong> opening hours are extended <strong>until 10 pm<\/strong>. Nearby there are two other Bergamo parks: <strong>Marenzi Park<\/strong>, an ancient private garden belonging to the noble Marenzi family bearing the same name, and <strong>Galgario Park.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3>Trucca Park<\/h3>\n<p>With its picturesque pond, its <strong>memorial forest<\/strong>, its wooden bridges crossing serpentine streams and a great variety of colourful plants and flowers, the Trucca Park in Bergamo is a true green jewel, located near the Pope John XXIII Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>With its <strong>193,000 square metres<\/strong>, it is the largest park in Bergamo and the ideal destination for a <strong>romantic walk<\/strong> or a morning <strong>yoga <\/strong>session, as well as being very popular with <strong>runners<\/strong>. History lovers can explore <strong>the ruins of the Rocca<\/strong>, the ancient fortress, while nature lovers can walk among the ancient trees and enjoy the view of the city below.<\/p>\n<p>Located in the Upper Town, it is adjacent to the <strong>Rimembranze Park<\/strong>, which is an important place of peace and reflection. Here, visitors can take time to honour the memory of those who fell in the two world wars. Inside there is an extensive fitness trail for sports and fitness enthusiasts, and a <strong>roller-skating<\/strong> rink, covered and sheltered.<\/p>\n<p>There are also paved driveways with <strong>mini road signs<\/strong> to teach the little ones, on their little electric cars, the first concepts of road safety. There are <strong>children&#8217;s playgrounds<\/strong> and, above all, given the presence of a large adjacent car park and of a pleasant breeze in the evenings, various <strong>street food <\/strong>events are held here in the open air during the summer, with the possibility of dining al fresco.<\/p>\n<h3>Colli Park<\/h3>\n<p>Actually, it should not be seen or thought of as a normal &#8216;city park&#8217; because it is instead a vast area, the third largest in Lombardy, and it is situated on the slopes of the <strong>hills surrounding the city<\/strong>, and even <strong>Monte Canto Alto<\/strong> &#8211; 1146 m &#8211; descends to it.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>5,000-hectare<\/strong> Colli Park in Bergamo, which was founded back in the year 1977, offers awe-inspiring views of the city and its surrounding mountains. With wide meadows, well-shaded paths and <strong>beautiful forests<\/strong>, this park is the perfect place for a <strong>relaxing walk<\/strong> or a family picnic.
