Via degli Orti is one of the most scenic streets in the Upper Town, with a panoramic view over the hills of Bergamo. It crosses a particular area that, since ancient times, was exploited for the cultivation of vegetables. This part of the city was, in fact, in the middle of the countryside, surrounded by fields, vegetable gardens and orchards. This street is famous for its beauty and distinctive charm.
