Porta Dipinta Fontana

Porta Dipinta – The Painted Gate

Porta Dipinta (the Painted Gate) stood on the east side of the medieval city walls. Its name, still preserved today, gives the street its denomination. It earned this name because it was decorated with frescoes by artists from Bergamo, including Simone da Averara and Bartolomeo Cabrini. The fountain next to it was built symmetrically to the large vault covering the gate.

Itineraries, experiences and a local soul: this is the Bergamo that we want to tell you about!
