23 May 2025

The Leolandia amusement park has over 50 attractions and rides designed for children of all ages, and it will give them the opportunity to have the time of their lives and experience incredible encounters with their favourite cartoon characters. Leolandia is so much more than an amusement park: it is a small enchanted world where imagination comes to life.

Where is Leolandia?

Located in Capriate San Gervasio, halfway between Milan and Bergamo, from which it is just 16.5 km away, Leolandia is one of Italy’s best-loved theme parks, designed primarily for families with children.

Opened in 1971 with the name Minitalia, Leolandia has reinvented itself over the years, changing its name to FantasyWorld Minitalia in 1997.

Since 2008, the park has officially taken on the name Leolandia, and today it has become a favourite destination for those seeking an immersive, educational and safe leisure experience for children.

Leolandia’s Attractions

Leolandia is a child-friendly park, designed for those between 2 and 10 years old, with attractions divided according to age and height – perfect for little explorers, but fun for adults as well.

What attractions and rides are there in Leolandia?

The main thematic areas include:

  • Masha and the Bear’s Forest. This is one of the most popular areas, where children can enter the Bear House, play with musical equipment and take part in interactive shows. The chance to meet Masha and the Bear live to take a photo is one of those moments that children will never forget.
  • Thomas & Friends. This Leolandia attraction allows you to take a real scenic ride on board Thomas the tank engine, the famous blue train. This is the perfect attraction for little ones, who can also go on board with mum and dad.
  • PJ Masks City. Little fans of PJ Masks can visit their city, get into their cars and experience little hero missions.
  • The Pirate Bay. This is an aquatic adventure area with water cannons, boats to explore and interactive games. It is also home to the spectacular Sea Battle, where children can have fun hitting targets or other pirates with water sprays.
  • The Kingdom of Camelot. A medieval setting with castles, towers, and Leolandia rides such as the β€˜Leonardo’s Dragon’ mini rollercoaster that entertains even the oldest children, and the Horse Joust too.
  • Bing’s World. One of the latest additions, dedicated to the famous bunny Bing and his friend Flop, with interactive games, workshops and encounters with the cartoon characters.
  • Western Area. An area inspired by the Wild West, where groups of friends and families can enjoy the Cowboy Rapids (a water ride with descents, bends and splashing), and the Mine Train.
  • Classic rides and playgrounds. Leolandia’s attractions also include many evergreen games suitable for all ages, such as bumper cars and giant slides.
  • Attractions for little explorers. At the farm, children will have the opportunity to see goats, rabbits and chickens.

Another attraction in Leolandia is its impressive Ferris wheel, called the β€˜Pioneer Wheel’, which reaches an incredible height of 30 metres.

From up there you can enjoy a wonderful view of the park and the surrounding nature; it is ideal for a relaxing break between one attraction and the next, and despite its height it is also accessible to children under 90 cm.

Minitalia

A historic and iconic area of the park is Minitalia, an itinerary that reproduces to scale some of Italy’s most famous monuments. Besides being a fascinating attraction, it is also an educational opportunity to discover Italian geography and culture.

Most monuments are on a 1:50 scale, but some iconic structures, such as the Leaning Tower of Pisa and the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, are made on a 1:33 scale in order to offer visitors an even more impressive range of details.

Talking statues of famous figures from Italian history such as Dante Alighieri and Giacomo Leopardi accompany Minitalia’s visitors to Leolandia with stories and anecdotes about the places represented.
